Kalman Mizsei is currently head of mission at the European Union Advisory Mission on Civilian Security Sector Reform in Ukraine. He was previously chairman of the Making the Most of EU Funds for the Roma program at the Open Society Foundations. From 2001-2006, he was Assistant Secretary General of the UN and UNDP's Regional Director for Europe and the CIS. During his tenure at the UN, Mizsei initiated and organised a Blue Ribbon Commission for Ukraine for the newly elected President in 2004. Prior to joining the UN, Mizsei also held senior management positions in the AIG Global Investment Group for Central and Eastern Europe, the Hungarian Export Import Bank, and the East-West Institute in New York City.
At the School of Public Policy, Mizsei teaches courses on Globalization and Global Governance. He has been teaching at CEU since 2006 and holds a PhD from the Budapest University of Economics.
