Agnes Leyrer is Academic Cooperation’s Officer at Central European University, focusing on the development of strategic international partnerships in Europe and the USA. Her main areas of work include:
- Establishing academic cooperation with higher education institutions internationally
- Setting up student exchange agreements with renown international universities
- Managing Erasmus Bi-lateral Agreements in Europe and neighboring countries
- Organizing study trips for students of partner institutions at CEU
- Co-managing the CEU Global Teaching Fellowship Program, which provides the possibility for advanced CEU doctoral candidates and recent graduates to teach at partner institutions in Hungary and abroad
- Representing CEU at International Higher Education Conferences, advocating for academic freedom
- Guest lecturer at CEU School of Public Policy
Agnes serves the European international higher education community as a volunteer member of the Professional Development Committee of the European Association for International Education (EAIE)
Prior to working at CEU Agnes Leyrer held positions which gave her a diverse insight into European Higher Education: As private partner through ETS Global – Educational Testing Service in The Netherlands and France (2009-2014); as Student representative through the Board of AEGEE – European Students’ Forum in Belgium (2013-2014); as MA Programme Coordinator at ISES-Corvinus University in Kőszeg (2011-2013)
