The General Counsel is the Director of the CEU Legal Office, whose key functions are providing legal advice to faculty and university administration, ensuring the university's compliance with the statutory framework and safeguarding abidance by privacy standards. The General Counsel further provides strategic legal advice to the Board of Trustees and the President and Rector. He is currently a member of the university's Senior Leadership Team.
Failing in his dream of becoming a professional mountain guide, Dominik chose law school as a plan b. He has a Master's in law from the University of Vienna and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the Max Planck Institute in Munich (MIPLC), where he put his main focus on understanding the protectability of fictitious characters. After being admitted to the Vienna Bar cum laude in 2015, he worked as an attorney in a leading law firm in Vienna. In his private practice, he specialized in Art and Restitution Law, as well as International Commercial Arbitration and Dispute Resolution.
