Christian Arthaber joined CEU in February 2022. As Chief Operating Officer he oversees the Human Resources Office; Facilities; Information Technology; and Strategic Administrative Initiatives & Projects.
In his previous position at the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (oiip), as managing director, Christian oversaw the organization’s financial repositioning, he standardized administrative functions, established processes for grant management and financial reporting, and streamlined the coordination and management of international projects.
Previously working in consultancy, Christian operated at the intersections of academia, government, and other stakeholders from an organizational, legal, and finance perspective. Prior to this, he was Director of Finances and Administration for the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
