David Karas is a postdoctoral fellow at the Democracy Institute where he manages the Institute's international cooperation in research and education. David is a French-Hungarian political economist working on the changing role of the state and post-neoliberal developmental trajectories in developing economies: he holds an MA in Comparative Politics from Sciences Po Paris, an MA in Nationalism Studies from CEU and a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the EUI. David has been teaching international political economy, IR and introductory social science classes to students from the Global South at OSF's CSLA Fellowship program, Manipal University in India, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek and ELTE University in Hungary. He is also the creator of Poliko Podcast which is a platform to showcase innovative empirical and theoretical research in political economy.
