Günther is Professor of Cognitive Science at CEU Budapest. His main research interests include perception-action links, joint action, sense of agency, social cognition, and problem solving. He is the coordinator of the ERC Synergy grant `Constructing Social Minds: Coordination, Communication, and Cultural Transmission`(SOMIC). Having received his PhD from Hamburg University he moved on to a research position at the Max Planck Institute for Psychological Research, Munich. He held faculty positions at Rutgers University, the University of Birmingham, and Radboud University`s Donders Institute.
