Helga Dorner is visiting faculty and researcher at CEU. She is founding faculty member and former director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning. She received her PhD in Educational Science on the special track ICT in Education. She teaches courses and seminars in the field of teaching and learning in higher education and socialization of academics. Her most recent research focus on teaching innovations in higher education and also on academic professionalism in the 21st century.
Together with respective CEU faculty members she was engaged in co-designing and researching collaborative higher education courses in the field of social sciences and humanities. She was the lead faculty of the CEU Intellectual Themes Initiative Project "Sound Relations: Transgressions, Disruptions, Transformations". She was also the Faculty Director of the CTL Mentoring Program of the Global Teaching Fellows.
As a researcher, she has been member of the validation team of the European Union-funded research and development project CALIBRATE (Calibrating eLearning in Schools) project and also the Knowledge Practice Laboratory Project (KP Lab). She researches teaching innovations, in particular mentoring for teaching in higher education, technology integration in higher education, and social learning in online environments. She consults with national and international (higher) educational organisations, regularly publishes scholarly articles on online learning and presents at conferences.
