Kata Orosz is Assistant Professor of Higher Education Policy at the Department of Public Policy. She serves as Acting Director of CEU's Yehuda Elkana Center for Higher Education. She also serves as Co-Director of the Open Society Network University certificate program in Global Educational Development (OSUN GLOBALED).
Kata holds a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in International Educational Development from Teachers College at Columbia University, an MA in Public Policy (Higher Education Policy Specialization) from Central European University, and an undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from Eötvös Loránd University.
Kata's research focuses on the relationship between higher education policy and the economic and non-economic benefits of higher education for individuals and societies. Studies she co-authored were published in the American Educational Research Journal, International Journal of Educational Development, Educational Researcher, Theory and Method in Higher Education Research, and through the European Expert Network on Economics of Education. Kata is an alumna of Erasmus Kollegium, the Kellner Scholarship program, and the Hungarian-American Fulbright Postgraduate Student Grant program.
