Lucija joined CEU in October 2023 as Executive Assistant to both the Pro-Rector for Teaching and Learning and the Pro-Rector for Foresight and Analysis.
Beyond administrative aid, Lucija proactively supports the institution's goals. Her approach enhances decision-making processes, ensuring pro-rectors are well-informed and prepared for effective day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives.
Her responsibilities cover various executive support tasks, such as managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and facilitating communication between different departments.
Lucija carved out a diverse career in the cultural and educational sectors. She worked in higher education for several years, first as a gallery manager for the Students Cultural Centre Gallery at the University of Rijeka. Afterward, and before coming to CEU, she was a program coordinator for the Center for Advanced Studies Southeast Europe and a program manager at the Moise Palace, the University of Rijeka's scientific and educational center located on the island of Cres. During her time there, she played a vital role in organizing various academic, cultural, and social programs while also preserving the historical integrity of the palace.
As a program coordinator for the European Capital of Culture - Rijeka 2020 project, she orchestrated various cultural and social initiatives that celebrated diverse minority cultures and subcultures as part of a program known as the "Kitchen of Diversity."
Additionally, driven by her passion for community engagement and cultural enrichment, Lucija co-founded the NGO Akumulator in Rijeka. This initiative provided a platform for students to connect with and learn from established artists. Through Akumulator, she organized a street art festival that not only received significant community appreciation but also revitalized Rijeka's neglected urban spaces.
Lucija is also an accomplished artist, utilizing mediums such as video performance, photography, and installations. She has exhibited in over 25 group exhibitions and festivals, and her artworks are featured as permanent exhibits in public spaces in Lovran and Rijeka, Croatia.
