Mihail Chiru is a visiting lecturer at the Department of Political Science of the Central European University. In September 2017 he started a two year postdoctoral project at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, focusing on legislative behavior and legislative organization in the European Parliament. He earned a PhD in political science from the Central European University in 2015.
Previously, he has been the Research Director of the Median Research Centre, Bucharest, where he worked on various national and international research projects funded by OSF, Horizon 2020 and EEA - Norway Grants. Mihail has also worked as Associate Researcher at the Lucian Blaga University, Sibiu, Romania (2013-2016) and as Research Fellow at the Center for the Study of Imperfections in Democracies (DISC) at CEU (2010-2012).
He is mainly interested in issues related to political representation and the effects of electoral and legislative institutions on political behavior. He authored or co-authored more than two dozen articles on legislative behaviour, party politics and candidate campaigns.
