Tatiana Yarkova is CEU's Academic Secretary. She supports the operation of CEU governance bodies – the Board of Trustees, the Senate, and the Academic Forum. Under the direction of the Provost and Pro-Rector, she coordinates institutional assessment, quality assurance, and CEU’s accreditation in the U.S. with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, as well as program registration with the New York State Education Department. Tatiana also supports the development and implementation of CEU's academic policies.
Tatiana previously worked as Deputy Director of CEU’s Special and Extension Programs, where she supervised a range of faculty and curriculum development programs. Prior to joining CEU in 2006, Tatiana taught sociology at the American University-Central Asia, and worked as an academic leader in sociology at the Central Asian Resource Center.
She holds an MA in society and politics from CEU and Lancaster University in the UK, and a PhD in sociology from the Graduate School for Social Research in Poland.
