Zbigniew Truchlewski received his PhD in Political Economy from CEU in 2016 and was awarded the best doctoral dissertation prize for his work on the politics of fiscal austerity in the UK and France under the supervision of Professor Achim Kemmerling. His research interests include the political economy of macroeconomic policies and of the Euro as well as panel data analysis and statistical visualization. During his time in CEU's doctoral program, Zbig chaired the Political Economy Research Group (PERG) and has held visiting fellowships at Cornell University, the London School of Economics and the European University Institute in Florence. Prior to his doctoral studies, Zbig spent time at the European Central Bank, the European Commission and the OSCE. Zbig graduated from Sorbonne (BA), Sciences Po Paris (MRes) and the College of Europe (MA) and published on the political economy of the Euro, on the external governance of the Euro and on fiscal policy in Germany. Zbig also teaches applied regression analysis in SPP for the 2016-17 academic year. Additionally, Zbig is also one of the editors of the think tank Nouvelle Europe.
